About Cathryn

I primarily work as a UX/UI designer, although I’ve been in creative and human-centred design roles for the last 7 years. Much of my work has spanned product and service design, user and customer research, and digital marketing.

My background is in anthropology. I love the study of humans (social, biological, and archaeological) and have a strong passion for human diversity, biosocial issues, and social justice. As an anthropologist, I worked in social impact and community development - This is where I first started to (unknowingly) apply human-centred research and design methods.

My inevitable progression into UX/UI and HCD has felt very ‘full circle’. To me, HCD and humanist (or feminist) principles go hand-in-hand. To support my evolving multi-disciplinary work, I picked up a grad cert in data analytics and I’m currently working on my Masters of UX Design.

Outside of work and study, I enjoy making art and music, trying my hand at photography, learning languages, and watching animated tv shows.
